OwnBiz wants every reader to be able to use our guides, including people with disabilities and people who use assistive technologies.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.
What we do
- Use a clear heading structure on every page, so readers can navigate by headings.
- Write in plain language and define industry terms on first use.
- Present step-by-step instructions as numbered lists and comparisons as tables with header rows.
- Write link text that describes the destination.
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Use text and background colors with sufficient contrast.
- Design pages that work with keyboard navigation, screen readers, and browser zoom, and that adapt to mobile screens.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Content provided by third parties, including advertisements and external websites linked from our guides, is outside our control and may not meet the same standard. We review the Website over time and fix issues as we find them.
Feedback and assistance
If you have difficulty accessing any part of the Website, or need information in a different format, please tell us. Email [email protected] with the subject line “Accessibility” and include:
- The URL of the page.
- A description of the problem.
- The browser, device, and assistive technology you use, if any.
- The format in which you would like to receive the information, if relevant.
We will work to respond and to provide the information in an accessible format.
