‘Uncover your hidden intelligence’ is a question commonly asked by companies who want to take advantage of the hyper focused talent pool of bring in a someone with a deeper / smart as compared to a normal talent pool.
Some of the companies I have had the privilege of being involved with also wanted to search for a perfect person in specific parameters. For example, they wanted a person who had a great attitude, great presence of mind and enthusiasm, even love for what they do. The concept behind ‘uncovering your hidden intelligence’ was to tap this hidden talent that is probably sitting within you somewhere. It looks different for everyone and it is different for everyone. I can give you the basic bullet points that each company followed to find a new person that would fit into the position they were filling.
– People who have the Right Attitude
– People who have a presence of mind and a zest to do the work
– People who are well versed with people skills and enjoying the opportunity to work with other people
– People who are calm down to a fault and do not thrive on stress at all
– People who are seen as powerful and have very compelling presence of mind
– People who are not analytical and enjoy seeing things with action
– People who have a Har courage to walk out on a limb
– People who are hyper motivated and want to be on the next big thing
Their are a lot more bullet points, there are also a few different subsets as to how these attributes are tested and value creation is also varied.
Another aspect of discovering and uncovers your hidden intelligence was to explore your sense of confidence. Your dressed and act identify you as a person who knows the value of their work. Which pressure you put on yourself or those around you will teach self control and help with self confidence.
If you are the one finding it hard to come up with answers, give yourself the boot, you are human and everyone has these attributes in varying degrees. You may even want to find a great book or program that tells you how to uncover your hidden talent, and available.
How do you uncover your hidden talent?
If you do not know much about the job you are trying to fill remember that people today search through multiple sources. You will make much more headway if you position yourself as someone who has the aspirational ability to do the position you are trying to fill, keep your networks alive and assess what is in front of you.
If you are a generalist you will want to assess the industry in which you are trying to fit in and you will want to know the specific specialized area you are trying to penetrate.
If you do not have any deep expertise, seek out mentors, and take advantage of every chance. Their are guys who have the particular knowledge in the areas that you are trying to get into, you can take that knowledge and use it to build your own unique capabilities.
If you do not have a deep knowledge of the industry you are trying to enter, seek out people who do and work as your mentor. Their insight and specialized knowledge will be invaluable to you and can be the difference in whether you hire yourself and your team to pitch a client for you or position yourself as an expert in the industry and realize a breakthrough when you are on the topic.
Remember this is a team effort and you want your team members pitching ideas and not you. You want to be your best characteristic and claiming that your views are the professional position you hold in the industry and behind the scenes. In the end you are responsible for selling yourself and your company within the industry.
