While the new technologies behind operations of wind and solar power generation is focused on energy conservation in the future, there is still a need to lit results and to attract employees with skill sets in engineering. In the short term, this means that there will be a greater demand for engineers within the field. This will in turn put an additional demand for prospective engineers, flowing over into new expect. There will be potential diversified growth for the engineering industries into new areas, and the use of fewer engineers as well.
